The Experience
A holistic experience. A day in the life of the estate involves spending the whole day, literally living the plantation life! The day begins with a hearty estate style breakfast followed by a sampling of the estate tasks (depending on the time of the year, the tasks keep varying). A culinary journey awaits for lunch, following which you attend a coffee tutorial, along with a unique insight into coffee cultures from around the world in the World Coffee Museum.

Tour Instructions
This tour is intended to give the participant a true feel of life on an estate. We will involve the participants in estate tasks which can include physical work. Thus wearing comfortable and hardy clothes such a denim T-shirt, sturdy walking or trekking shoes are recommended. A hat or cap will be useful on sunny days.
About the Estate
Mercara Gold Estate is a beautiful 12-acre estate located 8 km from Madikeri. Whilst coffee was growing here since the 1960's we acquired it in 1998 and began a process of transformation by organising it into a well laid out farm with a wide array coffee, spices and fruit trees. Our vision was to develop Mercara Gold Estate into a fully integrated unit, we began processing and roasting our coffees on the estate. We follow all time-tested processes with passion to produce our own range of boutique style coffee and well balanced blends. With our newest offering The World Coffee Museum, we have come full circle. We now give you a complete immersive experience of all things Coffee, along with a unique insight into the coffee cultures from around the world.
