The peaberry is a hallowed coffee & generally misunderstood. The result of a natural genetic defect that occurs in 10% of all coffee, the peaberry bean is loved by coffee roasters & therefore enjoys a premium! Due to its formation as a single large bean inside the cherry, the bean is consistent in size & thus roasts more evenly. Enjoy this coffee in any way you like it, be sure our roastmaster loves to wait for orders of peaberry!
Peaberry coffee is a naturally occurring mutation present in Arabica and Robusta coffee varieties where only one bean develops inside of the coffee cherry instead of two. they tend to be smaller, rounder, and denser than their two-seeded counterparts. Peaberries are estimated to make up to around 5–10% of a harvest.
